Parsons invites applications for its Summer 2027 Structural Internship, supporting our Columbia, SC team. You will expand your engineering skills with direct mentorship and collaboration within a world-class Infrastructure design team.

As a top firm in civil engineering, you gain valuable experience on major projects, working with leaders and engineers while developing professional capabilities and technical proficiency in analysis and design tools.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an engineering curriculum with a civil/structures focus and have completed at least two years of study.
• Civil engineering students nearing undergrad completion or pursuing graduate studies are encouraged.
• Prior coursework in structural analysis, steel or concrete design, or geotechnical topics is preferred.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher is desirable.
• Experience with structural engineering software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop professionally through our national intern program and leadership interactions.
• Work as a bridge engineer on medium to large projects.
• Support structural analysis modelling and calculations under supervision.
• Assist in producing drawings and calculations under senior engineers.
• Support post-design activities by reviewing shop drawings and RFIs.

Job Description:

Parsons is now accepting applications for our Summer 2027 Structural Internship program supporting our Columbia, SC team! In this program, you will expand your engineering technical skills and knowledge with direct mentorship and collaboration within a world-class team of Infrastructure design experts!

Responsibilities:

• Develop professionally and connect with our company leaders through our National intern program.
• Work in the capacity of bridge engineer on medium to large projects.
• Support engineering staff in performing structural analysis modelling.
• Assist in the production of engineering calculations and drawings under supervision of senior engineers.
• Support post-design construction activities by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, or complex construction activities.
• Provides support for other engineering activities as required.

What Skills & Qualifications You'll Bring:

• Must be enrolled in an engineering curriculum with a focus on civil/structures at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of study
• Civil Engineering students nearing completion of undergraduate studies, or students currently enrolled in graduate studies are encouraged to apply.
• Prior related coursework such as structural analysis, steel or concrete design, geotechnical engineering, etc.is preferred
• GPA of 3.0 or higher is desirable
• Experience with software packages related to structural engineering such as Microstation or Open Bridge Designer, Excel, Bluebeam, MathCad, and structural analysis software (SAP2000, Larsa, MIDAS, or similar) is preferred

Salary Range: $22.93 - $40.14
