Locke Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in a precast concrete manufacturing environment in Houston, TX. You will shadow engineers, assist with design tasks, and apply classroom knowledge to real projects.

The role emphasizes learning and professional growth, with opportunities to observe and contribute to design through production while developing teamwork and communication skills.

Qualificações

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering preferred.
• Strong interest in design, structural calculations, and applied engineering.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and CAD software; exposure to modeling tools preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the internship.

Responsabilidades

• Learn how engineering projects progress from quotation through manufacturing.
• Assist with updating design calculations and programming tools under guidance.
• Gain exposure to producing mix designs and performing simple design calculations.
• Shadow engineers to understand precast repair procedures and workflows.
• Support the review of drawings and design submittals against contract plans.
• Learn how to create 3D models and designs using engineering software.
• Assist in preparing presentations on the design and fabrication process.
• Become familiar with ASTM and ACI design criteria, design loadings, and SCC mix design concepts.
• Participate in special projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned.
