Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a summer structural engineering intern to assist with basic engineering tasks as part of a project team. You will contribute to design and construction phases, apply building code provisions, and support documentation efforts under supervision.

The role emphasizes developing professional skills, teamwork, and collaboration across disciplines. A pursuing accredited engineering degree and basic knowledge of Revit/BIM are preferred.

Qualifications

• Summer intern role: pursuing professional degree at an accredited university.
• Accredited degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• FE exam passed or actively pursuing FE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute structural engineering tasks under supervision.
• Assist in creation of implementation documents.
• Collaborate with project team during design and construction phases.
• Apply building code provisions with project team guidance.
• Interpret material design standards for assigned tasks.
• Monitor production schedule for responsible tasks.
• Review completed tasks for accuracy and completeness.
• Support senior staff on submittal reviews and RFIs.
