Job summary

Thorson Baker + Associates is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to support our electrical engineering team in the design and development of institutional, retail, and commercial building projects. This internship provides hands-on experience in design development, construction documents, and construction administration.

Duties include structural engineering of building systems, preparing calculations and constructible documents, performing engineering calculations, and assisting in office

Qualifications

Two years completed toward a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiar with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Structural engineering of building systems for institutional, retail and commercial projects.
Prepare calculations and construction documents that are cost effective and constructible.
Perform calculations including building loads, lateral and gravity design of building systems.
Assist in office construction administration including review of shop drawings and RFIs through construction phase.
