Job summary

Stantec in Austin, TX is seeking summer 2027 interns who will contribute to design ideas and conceptual models within a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers and project managers.

You will develop three‑dimensional models using BIM, interpret drawings and codes, and assist in preparing design documents across project phases. Strong design, modeling, organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, specifications, codes, and other similar documents.
• Utilize BIM technologies to develop three dimensional models of structures and their components under direction of senior staff.
• Analyze and design individual building structural systems.
• Work with project managers and technical design staff to prepare design documents through various phases of the design process including site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, details, and calculations.
• Create electronic data files in compliance with Stantec and client requirements.
• Convert redlines to document-ready work.
• Publish and manage design document sets.
• Maintain drawing revisions.
