Job summary

RTX, headquartered in the United States, offers a full-time co-op in Jamestown, ND, focusing on stress engineering for cargo-handling systems. You will engage with a team supporting new product development and certification while performing structural analyses and documenting loads for certification.

Applicants must be pursuing Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering with CAD experience (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, Catia) and at least 60 credits.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Catia or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
• Work within a team of stress engineers in support of new product development and certification.
• Perform basic structural analysis, with guidance from stress engineers, utilizing classical analysis and finite element analysis methods to demonstrate structural integrity of cargo handling system products
• Support the generation of component applied loads and aircraft interface loads
• Develop structural analysis documentation in support of product certification
• Support structural testing for product certification

Relocation Eligibility

Please consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role. Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
