Job summary

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. seeks a Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to design bridges and structures from concept to detail. You will perform analyses, prepare drawings and specifications, and coordinate with project managers to meet schedule and budget.

The role allows telecommuting up to three days per week and requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil/structural engineering with relevant experience or a master's degree with no experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• Two years of experience as a Structural/Civil Engineer or related occupation (or Master's degree with no experience).

Responsibilities

• Complete conceptual to detailed designs of bridges and structures.
• Perform structural analysis and design per codes and standards.
• Review calculations, drawings, and specs; ensure regulatory compliance on publicly funded projects.

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Details:

• Complete conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs of new bridges and other structures
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Conduct analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges
• Prepare and review engineering design calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications
• Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements, budget, and schedule
• Interpret and apply federal and state design standards and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance on publicly funded infrastructure projects
• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study and2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study with no experience.

Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Position requires experience in the following:

1. MS Office Suite
2. Preparation of construction cost estimates
3. CADD software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and OpenBridge
4. Design software including RCPIER, STAAD, and CsiBridge
5. Industry-standard Design Codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
6. Department of Transportation Design Requirements, including BD’s, BC’s, and DM-4
7. Department of Transportation Design Software, including PSLRFD, STLRFD, BXLRFD, and BPLRFD
8. Steel Girder Design and the AISC Steel Manual
9. Concrete Design and the ACI Manual
