Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years of structural experience.
• Alternatively a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with no experience.
• Experience gained via coursework, projects or internships is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural designs, plans, specs and cost estimates for transportation structures.
• Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts and structure-type analysis.
• Perform limited portions of broader assignments and guide entry-level engineers.
• Gather data using established procedures and work under moderate supervision.

Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Denver, CO.

• Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures
• Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure-type analysis evaluations
• Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
• Work on detailed and routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests
• Propose approaches to solve problems encountered
• Identify discrepancies in results
• Provide guidance to entry-level engineers
• Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and no experience.

Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently.
