Job summary

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to complete conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for bridges and structures.

You will perform structural analysis and rehabilitation design, prepare calculations and drawings, and coordinate with project managers to meet project requirements. Telecommuting up to 3 days weekly is allowed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 2 years of related experience; or Master's degree with no experience.
  • Experience with MS Office and cost estimation preparation.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and OpenBridge.
  • Proficiency in RCPIER, STAAD, and CSI Bridge design software.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and DOT design requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Complete conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs of bridges and structures.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components per codes.
  • Conduct analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
  • Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers to meet requirements, budget, and schedule.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance on publicly funded infrastructure projects.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.

Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Details:
  • Complete conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs of new bridges and other structures
  • Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Conduct analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges
  • Prepare and review engineering design calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications
  • Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements, budget, and schedule
  • Interpret and apply federal and state design standards and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance on publicly funded infrastructure projects
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study with no experience.

Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Position requires experience in the following:

  • MS Office Suite
  • Preparation of construction cost estimates
  • CADD software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and OpenBridge
  • Design software including RCPIER, STAAD, and CsiBridge
  • Industry-standard Design Codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
  • Department of Transportation Design Requirements, including BD’s, BC’s, and DM-4
  • Department of Transportation Design Software, including PSLRFD, STLRFD, BXLRFD, and BPLRFD
  • Steel Girder Design and the AISC Steel Manual
  • Concrete Design and the ACI Manual

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $86528 to $119847.
