Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Tysons, VA to design, plan, and oversee the construction of safe, sustainable structures. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality projects.

Responsibilities include design/analysis with CAD, project management, and ensuring compliance with building codes. Eligible candidates have a Civil/Structural background and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of structural engineering experience.
Proficiency with CAD software and engineering design tools.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze structures using CAD; ensure safety and compliance.

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and cost-effective. This includes buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality projects.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Design and Analysis:
  - Develop structural designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  - Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces.
  - Analyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- 2. Project Management:
  - Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for construction.
  - Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project alignment.
  - Oversee construction sites to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  - Manage project timelines and budgets.
- 3.Compliance and Standards:
  - Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  - Conduct inspections and provide certifications as required by law.
- 4.Problem Solving:
  - Identify and resolve design and construction issues.
  - Provide technical advice and support during construction phases.
- 5.Documentation and Reporting:
  - Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation.
  - Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.

Qualifications

·Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
· Experience: 2+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related field
