Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to design, plan, and oversee the construction of structures ensuring safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

You will work with architects, contractors, and engineers on buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure projects. The role requires a BS in a technical field with 5+ years of experience, hands-on structural design, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (BS) such as Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying different systems.
• System administration experience: triage, resolve problems, analyze data, and implement new workstations.
• Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and Analysis: Develop structural designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces.
• Analyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for construction.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project alignment.
• Oversee construction sites to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Manage project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
• Conduct inspections and provide certifications as required by law.
• Identify and resolve design and construction issues.
• Provide technical advice and support during construction phases.
