**Job Description**

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in Houston, TX.

**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**

+ Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal defense and development schemes.

+ Maritime design and planning, including maritime codes/standards such as USACE, PIANC, OCIMF.

+ Structural design for wharves, piles, sheet piles, bulkheads, dolphins, across the United States.

+ Independently prepare engineering related calculations and develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details.

+ Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

+ Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

+ Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

+ Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.

+ Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field

+ 2 year of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Valid Driver’s license required

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master of Science (with structural engineering concentration)

+ Professional Engineering (PE) License

+ Five (5) years or more of related experience

+ Experience in the design of marine structures including wharves, piles, sheet piles, and dolphins in seismic zones

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills

+ Knowledge of computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, and STAAD.Pro.

+ Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

+ Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing

+ Demonstrable interest in developing a career in Ports & Marine Engineering

+ Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive

**Additional Information**

+ This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $63,000.00 - $116,000.00.
