Job summary

Maschmeyer Concrete is seeking a Structural/Civil Engineer to oversee plant erection activities for a new slag grinding facility in Gibsonton, FL. The role focuses on structural and civil work during erection and succession into a permanent plant engineering position after commissioning.

The candidate will coordinate with contractors, review drawings, ensure safety compliance, and support maintenance planning for structural assets while interfacing with mechanical and electrical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in industrial manufacturing, cement, mining, aggregates, heavy industrial facilities, or construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee structural and civil construction activities related to plant erection, including foundations, concrete works, steel structures, platforms, access ways, and equipment support structures.
• Coordinate with civil and structural contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Review structural drawings, civil layouts, foundation plans, reinforcement details, and erection procedures.
• Inspect structural and civil installations to ensure compliance with engineering standards, design specifications, and project requirements.
• Support foundation setting, anchor bolt placement, grouting, and alignment of major equipment bases.
• Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure proper interface between civil, structural, and equipment installation activities.
• Monitor quality control inspections, punch list completion, and structural acceptance testing.
• Participate in site planning, erection sequencing, and construction progress meetings.
• Troubleshoot structural or civil issues encountered during construction and erection.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and company safety requirements.
• Assist in developing long-term maintenance and inspection plans for structural assets.
