Job summary

HDR, Inc. is hiring a Structural Engineer in Phoenix to support the Building Engineering Services Group. You will review and coordinate structural designs, ensure code compliance, and work with a team of engineers across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, PE license, and at least 3 years of structural engineering experience in an engineering consulting environment. Local Phoenix experience preferred, with strong collaboration and client-focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or recognized by the licensing board for the position location.
• Previous structural engineer experience is required.
• Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications and perform calculations.
• Coordinate the structural design team through design development and contract document phases.
• Coordinate with agencies for code compliance and attend reviews.
• Conduct design development and site sessions with Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Manage workload to complete documents on schedule through contract development phases.
• Coordinate with affected disciplines and incorporate changes into project documents.
• Perform other duties as needed.
