Job summary

Velocity EPC in Norman, OK seeks an ambitious project engineer/manager with 6+ years in industrial and energy markets to lead design for greenfield and brownfield projects. You’ll deliver both engineering design and services, with potential to collaborate with a designer.

The role emphasizes independent work, sound engineering judgment, and strong client communication. A BSCE and PE license (or pursuit) in multiple states are preferred, with experience in concrete, structural steel, and O&G

Qualifications

• 6+ years of proven structural/civil engineering design in oil and gas.
• Professional Engineer willing to get licensed in multiple states.
• Experience in creation and reviewing structural design and construction documents.
• BSCE from ABET-accredited program.
• Working knowledge of design codes such as IBC, ACI, ASCE, ASTM.
• Familiarity with structural modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Engineer should be able to fully design a facility with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrate ability to make decisions to push projects with sound engineering judgment.
• Significant experience with concrete; structural steel experience is a plus.
• Experience in building design and platforms, etc.
• Maintain good client communications and build relationships.

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious project manager to help our growing company. The engineer should have 6+ years of experience in industrial and energy markets, and be ready to hit the ground running with engineering design for both greenfield and brownfield projects. We expect the engineer to be able to provide both design and engineering services. We are willing to hire both an engineer and a designer if the engineer has previous experience with a designer that they would like to work with moving forward. Job description below.

• Will demonstrate the ability to make decisions to push projects with sound engineering judgment.
• Should have significant experience with concrete, and the ability to do structural steel is a plus.
• Should have experience in building design, and platforms, etc.
• Has good communications skills and can build relationships with clients.
• Should have good working relationships in the O&G markets.
