Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Baton Rouge-based structural team. You will design and evaluate hydraulic and nearshore marine structures, including spillways, piers, and waterfront facilities, and collaborate with senior engineers on project execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
Master's degree in structural civil engineering (preferred).
Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure preferred.
Minimum 5 years of design experience; 7+ preferred.
Experience in the design and detailing of steel connections and reinforced concrete.
Knowledge of structural software: RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE.
Experience with CAD/BIM tools: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Studio.
Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Analysis, design, and detailing of structural steel and reinforced structures.
Modeling, analysis, design, and detailing of hydraulic and marine loading conditions.
Preparation of technical documents: reports, calculation packages, memos, specs.
Coordinate with CAD Designers on contract plans and construction documents.
Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
Conducting condition assessments and field investigations of dams, levees, and marine structures.
