Job summary

Geosyntec is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Baton Rouge team to design hydraulic and marine structures, including spillways, piers, and waterfront facilities. You will apply advanced structural analysis and detailing in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Candidates should have 5+ years in structural design, proficiency with RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD/Revit, and be eligible for professional registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural focus (required).
• Master's in Civil Engineering (Structural) preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analysis, design, and detailing of structural steel and reinforced structures.
• Modeling, analysis, design, and detailing of structures under hydraulic, geotechnical, coastal, and marine loading.
• Design and detailing of work platforms, piers, wharves, navigation structures, and hydraulic control structures.
• Foundation designs including piles, mats, and footings.
• Value engineering, design review, and risk assessment for waterfront projects.
• Prepare engineering reports, calculation packages, and construction specs.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes, and budgets.
• Field investigations and site inspections of dams, levees, and marine structures.
• Coordinate with CAD Designers on contract plans and documents.
