Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to support hydraulic and nearshore structure design, including spillways, piers, and floodwalls. The role involves design, evaluation, and detailing under a hybrid/onsite schedule across multiple Geosyntec offices in the US.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree with a structural focus, PE preferred, and 5+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in RISA/ETABS/RAM, AutoCAD/Revit, and Bluebeam Studio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural focus.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred.
• At least 5 years (7+ preferred) directly relevant experience in a design environment.
• Experience in design and detailing of steel connections and reinforced concrete.

Responsibilities

• Analysis, design, and detailing of structural steel and reinforced structures.
• Modeling, analysis, design, and detailing of hydraulic/geotechnical/marine loading conditions.
• Structural design of work platforms, piers, wharves, and hydraulic control structures.
• Foundation designs including piles, mats, and footings.
• Structural value engineering, design review, and risk assessment for water resources projects.
• Prepare technical documents including reports, calculations, and specs.
• Contribute to scopes of work, proposals, and budgets.
• Conduct condition assessments, field investigations, and inspections of dams, levees, and marine structures.
• Coordinate with CAD Designers on contract plans and construction documents.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (structural focus)

Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural)

Professional Engineer (P.E.)
