Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Sacramento, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer in Training with at least three years of professional experience to design, analyze, and oversee structural systems for a diverse portfolio.

You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers, prepare drawings and calculations, review construction documents, and support construction administration while ensuring code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• EIT certification required.
• PE certification obtained or actively in progress.
• At least three years of relevant full-time experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000).
• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, mechanics, and materials.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear project documentation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in compliance with building codes and standards.
• Conduct site assessments and evaluations to identify structural requirements and challenges.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors for project coordination.
• Review construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals for structural compliance.
• Provide technical support during construction administration and resolve on-site issues.
