Job summary

W3Global seeks a motivated Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our client’s Phoenix, AZ team. This full-time, on-site role offers hands-on experience and a path toward licensure.

You will assist with analysis, design of building structures, and construction documents using CAD and related software under licensed engineers. Ideal candidates are analytical, detail-oriented and eager to develop practical, constructible designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or eligibility within a reasonable timeframe.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building design.
• Experience with structural analysis and engineering calculations.
• Ability to evaluate loads, member capacities and overall performance.
• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
• Experience with structural analysis and design software such as RISA-3D, ETABS, ADAPT, RAM or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with analysis and design of building structures under licensed engineers.
• Prepare structural calculations and supporting documentation.
• Perform structural analysis to evaluate loads and performance.
• Support modeling, detailing, and construction documents.
• Develop plans and details using CAD software.
• Coordinate with project teams including architects and engineers.
• Review drawings for coordination and compliance.
• Assist in identifying design and constructability issues.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
• Assist with preparation of reports and project documentation.
• Support internal quality control and reviews.
• Apply applicable building codes to project work.
• Work under supervision while developing independent responsibilities.
• Contribute to practical and cost-effective design solutions.
