Job summary

HME, Inc. in Kansas seeks a structural steel engineer to perform connection analysis, design, and submittal reports for diverse projects. You will model connections in Tekla Structures and work with licensed engineers to ensure code-compliant solutions.

Required: Bachelor’s in Civil/Architectural Engineering, FE exam, strong communication, and attention to detail; preferred experience with Tekla, Revit, RISA, and Bluebeam, plus fabrication knowledge.

  • FE Exam passed required.
  • Strong communication and detail-oriented skills essential.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural steel connection analysis and design for various projects.
  • Prepare calculation reports for project submittals.
  • Design structural steel stairs and other delegated items for projects.
  • Model designed connections in Tekla Structures software.
  • Collaborate with a team under supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Position Description
  • Perform structural steel connection analysis and design for a variety of projects
  • Prepare calculation reports for project submittals
  • Design structural steel stairs and other miscellaneous delegated engineering items for projects
  • Model designed connections in Tekla Structures software
  • Collaborate with a team under the guidance of a Licensed Professional Engineer
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Passed FE Exam
  • Communication Skills
  • Attention to detail in calculations and drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of structural steel and miscellaneous metals
  • Knowledge of current building codes and regulations
  • Experience in Fabrication and Construction Industry
  • Experience with RISA, Tekla Structures, Revit, and Bluebeam
