Job summary

HME, Inc. is seeking skilled estimators to prepare formal bids and accurate material and labor take-offs for structural steel projects. You will use Tekla EPM to compute costs and BlueBeam Revu to analyze drawings, while coordinating with general contractors, trades, and vendors to secure favorable supplier bids.

The role requires reading contract drawings, analyzing specifications, and providing constructability input in collaboration with operations to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • College degree in a construction or engineering related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of structural steel and miscellaneous metals preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare formal bids and provide accurate material and labor take-offs.
  • Utilize Tekla EPM Software to compute labor, material, and shipping costs.
  • Utilize BlueBeam Revu Software to analyze and markup construction drawings.
  • Communicate accordingly with general contractors, trade partners and vendors.
  • Review and compare supplier bids for buyout products such as (Joist and Deck, Grating, Architectural Railings, etc.).
  • Assist in repricing of costs associated with Change Orders.
  • Collaborate with operations to provide constructability and coordination reviews of the project documents.
