Job summary

FINITETEK INC in Memphis, TN is seeking a Structural Engineer in Training for a full-time, on-site position.

You will assist in analysis and design of structural systems under licensed engineers, perform calculations, learn Revit, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

This role provides mentorship, a pathway to licensure, and exposure to diverse project types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Ie certification with intent to obtain PE licensure.
• Working knowledge of building codes and structural principles.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in structural design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and support structural analysis for projects.
• Prepare drawings and details in Revit for submittals.

Job description

The Structural Engineer in Training role is a full-time, on-site position based in Memphis, TN.

The individual in this role will assist in the analysis and design of structural systems for buildings and infrastructure under the guidance of licensed engineers.

Day-to-day responsibilities include performing structural calculations, supporting structural analysis, preparing drawings and details using and learning Revit, and coordinating with civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.

The Structural Engineer in Training will help review plans and specifications for submittal reviews and complete field observations, participate in project meetings, and contribute to technical documentation and reports.

This role offers mentorship, exposure to a variety of project types, and a path toward professional licensure. We having a functioning career training program.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform engineering calculations and support structural analysis for building and infrastructure projects.
• Entry-Level knowledge of structural engineering principles and familiarity with civil engineering concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, demonstrating a coursework focus in structural engineering.
• Engineer-Intern (EI) certification required with intent, ultimately, to obtain Professional Engineering (PE) licensure and possibly Structural Engineering (SE) licensure.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary, on-site team environment.
• Working knowledge of relevant building codes and standards; previous structural engineering experience, prior internship or co-op experience in structural design is a plus.
