Position Overview

United is seeking an enthusiastic structural engineer to support power and heavy industrial projects in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office.

Under general supervision, the successful applicant will perform structural calculations, develop specifications, and design drawings for foundations and structures. Projects include new build simple and combined cycle power plants and plant retrofits across the United States, requiring comprehensive structural engineering and design expertise.

Minimum Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
2. Experience: Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in structural engineering and design, including:

• Structural design experience preparing calculations, specifications, and drawings for foundations and steel structures.
• Reviewing relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support structural design and project development.
• Understanding the complete design process, from engineering design to drawings, based on project scope and specifications, within budgets and schedules.
• Following written and verbal instructions in accordance with established standards and procedures.

Software Skills: Experience with industry-standard engineering software such as STAAD Pro and Mathcad.

Additional Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers and designers.

Additional Requirements

• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate.
• Experience with ANSYS analysis software and AutoCAD design software.
• Legal Eligibility: Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.
