Role Description The Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will assist with the analysis and design of building structures under the supervision of licensed structural engineers. You will prepare engineering calculations, support structural modeling and detailing, and contribute to the development of construction documents using CAD and related software. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with project managers, reviewing drawings and specifications for structural compliance, and helping resolve design and constructability issues. You will also participate in project meetings, assist with technical reports, and support quality control processes as you progress toward licensure.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering for building design and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams. 3-5 years experience preferred.
• Candidates should possess skills in Structural Analysis and Calculations to evaluate loads, member capacities, and overall structural performance.
• Candidates should possess skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to develop plans, sections, and details that align with project standards. Familiarity with Revit is a bonus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe.
• Strong grasp of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC) or ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and communicate clearly with project team.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a willingness to take direction while growing into independent responsibility.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA-3D, ETABS, ADAPT Builder, RAM, or similar).
• Interest in innovative, constructible, and cost-effective design solutions that support client and project needs.
