Short Description

Bowman has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer I to join our team in Lacey or Seattle, WA.

Purpose

Perform the design and provide engineering services as they relate to transportation structures and/or other structural projects.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Direction: Receive general instruction on key objectives, work is completed using standard engineering techniques and design principles, reviewed by senior staff.
  • At The Operational And Company Level: Work closely with senior members to learn civil engineering work.
  • Do the Work: Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, complete design work using computer aided software, assist with reports, bridge inspections, prepare/review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, estimates.

  • Proficient in reading construction plans and technical writing.
  • Working knowledge of AISC-360, ACI 318, NDS, IBC, IRC, and ASCE 7.
Salary and Benefits

Salary range $76,000 - $97,000, variable compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits include:

Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Primarily indoor professional office environment; includes bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, traffic.
  • Mobility around office environment.

  • Partial outdoor work, may include adverse weather conditions.
  • Mobility at construction site: walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling; PPE required.
  • Local travel during business day; occasional out-of‑area and overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
