Job summary

Electrified Thermal Solutions, Inc. is developing the Joule Hive thermal battery and deploying energy storage solutions for high-temperature heat. We seek a Structural Design Engineer in Massachusetts to design and support next-generation energy storage and thermal systems.

You will own mechanical structure design, run simulations, create CAD drawings, and collaborate across R&D, design, construction, and commissioning teams to bring a cutting-edge renewable energy technology to market.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 1–5 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience managing external engineering contractors (1+ year).
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or Onshape).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of design and analysis of the mechanical structure of a commercial TES system.
• Generate parts, assemblies, and drawings within CAD in collaboration with design, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Use engineering analysis and simulation to inform design decisions for prototyping and final product design.
• Provide onsite support during FOAK system construction.
• Maintain detailed documentation: design specs, CAD models, simulations, and test reports.
• Provide progress updates and technical reports to stakeholders.
• Assist in management and QA/QC of external contractors.
