Job summary

Dennis Group is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to apply extensive knowledge of materials and construction techniques across diverse projects. You will perform hand calculations, create structural models, and ensure code compliance while coordinating with other disciplines.

The role involves designing framing systems, foundations, mats, and pipe bridges; reviewing geotechnical reports; and conducting field measurements and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
• 0-3 years of structural experience or schooling in industrial/commercial buildings.
• 0-3 years of calculations/analysis model creation for structural designs.
• 0-3 years of structural drafting with AutoCAD and Revit.
• RAM Structural System/ RAM Elements knowledge a plus.
• EIT/FE desirable.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15 days per year.

Responsibilities

• Apply extensive and diverse knowledge of principles and practices for a wide range of materials and construction techniques.

• Document gravity/wind/seismic design loads.
• Design common structural framing systems and foundations.

• Design mats slabs for tanks, vessels, and silos; design pipe bridges.
• Take-offs from structural plans; contact bidders for preliminary budgets.
• Field measure existing structures and draft sketches, contract drawings, specifications using AutoCAD.
• Review project documentation for conformity and quality assurance; review shop drawings.
• Review submittals and calculations; estimate construction costs with take-offs.
• Conduct field inspections and prepare reports; research materials and best practices.

Required Education Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• 0-3 years of relevant structural experience or schooling in industrial and commercial building structure
• 0-3 years of experience or schooling performing calculations, creating analysis models for structural designs
• 0-3 years of experience or schooling in structural and concrete drafting sketches, contract drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
• RAM Structural system and RAM Elements knowledge or experience is a plus
• EIT / FE desirable
• Detailed planning and organization skills.
• Experience with structural analysis software
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed (15 days a year)

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
