Your Opportunity

Stantec's Charleston, SC office is seeking a Structural Engineering E.I.T. for assistance in Structural Engineering work including structural investigations, designs, analyses, review of submittals, and site observations during construction. Typical projects include new buildings, historical restorations, concrete repairs, oceanfront hi-rise restorations, and marine work.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of the general concepts of relevant civil/structural engineering elements to perform structural investigations, designs, structural analyses, review of submittals, and site observations during construction.
  • Assist team in preparing drawings and reports. Conduct basic calculations and perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of structural design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD and any other relevant design software and knowledge of calculations performed by the software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Co-op / Internship experience preferred.
  • EIT designation or scheduled to take the exam within one year of degree completion. Position will primarily work in an office setting and will require some field work.
