Job summary

H&H is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Milwaukee, WI office. You will work on design and inspection assignments for transportation infrastructure across the region, contributing to full project life cycles from planning through construction.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Structural Engineering background, 3–8 years of experience, and a Wisconsin PE license. The role involves hands-on design, analysis, and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
Master's degree preferred.
Wisconsin PE license is required.
Experience with analytical software such as SAP, CSI Bridge, LARSA 4D, MIDAS Civil, AASHTOWare BRR, etc.
Experience with CAD software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with inspection, design and construction of bridges or other structures.
WisDOT-certified bridge inspector preferred.
Experience with WisDOT design procedures.

Responsibilities

Develop contract plans, special provisions, and engineer’s estimates.
Perform structural design calculations, sketches, modeling, and related calculations for beams, reinforced concrete, and steel structures.
Perform load ratings on bridges and other structures.
Adhere to quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with other members of the design team.
Assist with field inspections and condition assessments of bridges and other structures.
Research design options and codes and discuss with the project manager.
