Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree and years of experience per level.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Subject matter expertise in Navy structural designs.
  • Ability to independently lead technical integration activities.
  • Proficient with advanced structural analysis tools.
  • Strong 3D modeling and CAD skills.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
  • Experience with structural testing, validation, and failure analysis.
  • Ability to manage complex engineering projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel 10–25% of the time.

Job description

  • Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications for metals, non-metallic, and composite structural materials
  • Support product design and operation across structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment, and maintenance designs
  • Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling
  • Perform dynamics and loads, stability, stress fatigue, and thermal analysis
  • Serve as senior Structural Engineer supporting multiple Navy programs
  • Lead technical integration activities with Navy engineering stakeholders
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
  • Solve unusually complex technical problems with highly innovative solutions
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs
  • Advise management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 14 years of experience, or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 12 years of experience, or PhD in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 9 years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Subject matter expertise in Navy structural designs
  • Ability to independently lead technical integration activities
  • Advanced structural analysis tools such as FEMAP and Autodesk NASTRAN
  • Strong proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD tools
