Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree and 14 years of experience, or Master's degree and 12 years of experience, or PhD and 9 years of experience
  • Subject matter expertise in naval architecture
  • Ability to independently lead technical integration activities
  • Substantial interaction with Navy engineering stakeholders
  • Knowledge of naval architecture principles, industry codes, and engineering standards
  • Experience with ship stability, hull form, arrangements, and major shipyard movement operations
  • Ability to lead complex engineering projects with cross-functional teams
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Strong communication skills for technical presentations, documentation, and stakeholder interactions

Responsibilities

  • Perform naval architecture design and analyses involving ship hulls, foundations, superstructures, arrangements, and hull-form characteristics
  • Research, develop, design, and analyze naval architecture elements related to ship stability, hull form, arrangements, and shipyard movement operations
  • Apply advanced naval architecture principles, theories, and concepts
  • Develop analytical approaches and technical methods
  • Solve complex stability and ship movement problems
  • Lead technical integration activities across multiple Navy programs
  • Develop advanced technical concepts and integrate them into shipyard procedures and execution plans
  • Serve as an organizational spokesperson on advanced projects and programs
  • Advise management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications
  • Lead and coordinate engineering teams and mentor junior engineers
