Job description

This associate engineering position offers a variety of challenging opportunities in structural engineering, specializing in nuclear facilities and upgrades to nuclear power plants. The role involves collaborating with a team of structural engineers, interfacing with engineers from other disciplines, and guiding less experienced project team members.

The successful candidate will:

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, and support drawing development for a wide range of projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using advanced computer tools.
• Travel to client and vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification.
• Work under a hybrid schedule, requiring in‑office presence 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• 1+ years of experience in design and analysis of structures (AISC steel and ACI concrete).
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS).
• Experience with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) is valued.
