Job summary

ARCXIS, a leading national engineering and inspections firm, is seeking a Structural Engineer 1 (PE) to review, approve, and seal structural plans for wood-frame single-family homes. You will ensure compliance with codes, mentor EITs, and help expand into new states and markets.

The role requires 4+ years of structural design experience, an active PE license, and strong skills in AutoCAD and structural software. Travel and collaboration with builders and clients are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Licensed PE with structural engineering experience
• 4+ years of structural design experience
• Extensive wood-frame construction experience for single-family homes
• Strong knowledge of IRC/IBC/ASCE/ACI/PTI/AISC codes
• Excellent AutoCAD skills and proficiency in design software

Responsibilities

• Review structural designs, plans, calculations, and details prepared by the Structural Department
• Approve, sign, and seal structural plans and calculations where licensed
• Ensure designs comply with building codes and ARCXIS standards
• Serve as a technical resource for the Structural Department
• Assist in establishing structural design standards and QC processes
• Mentor EITs and younger engineers; develop practical, code-compliant solutions
• Communicate with builders, contractors, and clients regarding structural matters
• Participate in client meetings and project reviews as needed
• Support expansion into new states/markets
