Job summary

Tate Metalworks in Roebuck, SC, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage storage tank projects from conception through completion. The ideal candidate will ensure engineering specifications, safety protocols, and client requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include technical specifications review, cost estimation, and project management of subcontractors. A Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience are required. Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage storage tank projects from design conception through construction completion, ensuring engineering specifications and standards, safety protocols, and client requirements are met through the project life‑cycle.

Position

Project Engineer/Project Manager

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review Customer Technical Specifications and Drawings and develop designs based on Customer‑supplied plans and specifications, and a variety of applicable Codes: ASME Section VIII, API, AWWA, NFPA, ASIC, and National and International Building Codes.
  • Generate detailed shop fabrication and field erection cost estimates.
  • Generate Subcontractor Request for Quotation Packages.
  • Review Customer Terms and Conditions.
  • Write and issue technical and commercial proposals to our customers.
  • Project Management responsibilities include coordinating intra‑company project activities including drafting, purchasing, shop‑fabrication, field‑erection, as well as Subcontract Management, Contract Changes and ongoing Customer Service/Communications functions during each project.
Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired but not required. Minimum 3‑5 years of project engineering experience in process engineering, industrial manufacturing, heavy industrial construction or related fields.

Training

The Project Engineer will work under one of our licensed Professional Engineers learning the details of storage tank and pressure vessel designs, structural design, stress analysis, as well as heavy construction, and project management methodologies and practices.
