Job summary

Tate Metalworks, Inc. is a heavy industrial fabricator and erector serving Fortune 500 clients in chemicals, oil & gas, and metals industries.

We seek an experienced Project Engineer to design drawings, ensure engineering specifications and safety standards are met, and manage the project through its life cycle. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in engineering, 5+ years in project engineering, excellent communication, and is open to relocation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer technical specifications and drawings; develop designs based on plans and applicable codes (ASME VIII, API, AWWA, NFPA, ASIC, and national/international codes).
  • Generate detailed shop fabrication and field erection cost estimates.
  • Create subcontractor RFQ packages.
  • Review Customer Terms and Conditions.
  • Prepare and issue technical and commercial proposals.

Tate Metalworks, Inc., is a heavy industrial fabricator and erector specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of storage tanks and pressure vessels and other welded steel structures.

Our client base is comprised of Fortune 500 companies serving heavy manufacturing in the Chemical, Pulp and Paper, Oil and Gas, Environmental, Metals and Minerals, Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Agricultural, Water Treatment, and Defense Industries. We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will design technical drawings, ensuring engineering specifications and standards, safety protocols, and client requirements are met through the project life cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Review Customer Technical specifications and drawings and develop designs based on Customer-supplied plans and specifications, and a variety of applicable Codes: ASME Section VIII, API, AWWA, NFPA, ASIC, and National and International Building Codes.
  • Generate detailed shop fabrication and field erection cost estimates.
  • Generate Subcontractor Request for Quotation Packages.
  • Review Customer Terms and Conditions.
  • Write and issue technical and commercial proposals to our customers.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license desired.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project engineering.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participation the Company ESOP Program (Employee Stock Ownership Program)
