Job summary

Epitria Consulting is seeking a development-focused Structural Engineer on a licensure track to join a collaborative office with licensed engineers, architects, and interior designers in Roanoke, VA.

You will contribute to the analysis, design, and detailing of building structural systems across educational, civic, cultural, and commercial projects, while pursuing licensure on the job.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in building structural design.
• FE passed and EIT designation preferred, or intent to pursue licensure.
• Experience designing building structural systems and construction documents.

The Role

Support the analysis, design, and detailing of building structural systems across educational, civic, cultural, and commercial projects. This is a development role on a licensure track, working directly alongside licensed structural engineers, architects, and interior designers in a single collaborative office.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of building structural systems
• Prepare construction documents
• Perform design load calculations and structural modeling
• Perform site visits to verify existing field conditions
• Conduct interdisciplinary coordination with architecture, civil, and MEP

QualificationsRequired

• 2+ years of relevant work experience in building structural design
• FE passed and EIT designation preferred, or a clear intent to pursue licensure
• Working proficiency in the design of building structural systems and the production of construction documents

Preferred

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and RISA-3D or equivalent analysis software
• Exposure to existing-building assessment or renovation workField experience verifying existing conditions
