Gridwork AE (formerly Livermore Architecture & Engineering) is an architectural design and structural engineering firm located in Portland, Oregon, specializing in commercial and industrial building types. We are a small firm that regularly completes big projects in a range of markets, providing a friendly environment where each employee has responsibility for design and management of projects.

We currently have a full-time position for a talented, hardworking individual.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
• 5 years of experience in the structural engineering design field.
• Experience with steel and concrete structural systems.
• Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner.
• Strong work ethic and motivation to learn.
• Excellent organizational, communication and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations and draft construction drawings using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Conduct field inspections and assist with construction administration.
• Over time, contribute to project management tasks including client contact, scheduling and budgeting, contract writing and business development.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering from an accredited college.

Preferred Skills and Credentials:

• Project management experience and the ability to work cooperatively with architects, clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Working knowledge of structural engineering applications (Risa, EnerCalc, and MathCad).
• Licensed or actively pursuing licensure.
• Working knowledge of the International Building Code.
• Experience with wood and masonry design.
