Job summary

Sirius Staffing seeks a Structural Engineer (PE) for the Mobile, AL area, focusing on analysis, design, optimization and troubleshooting of industrial structures across oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, power and related facilities.

You'll lead structural work packages, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate, constructible drawings and compliant designs in a heavy industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in a U.S. state with Alabama reciprocity.
• 10-20+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial environments.
• ABET-accredited degree in Structural Engineering.
• Experience with steel and reinforced concrete design for industrial facilities.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM).
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel and concrete systems in industrial facilities (pipe racks, platforms, buildings, equipment supports, foundations).
• Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Evaluate loading conditions and incorporate geotechnical recommendations.
• Coordinate with designers and multidisciplinary teams to produce constructible drawings.
• Support brownfield projects through field walkdowns, evaluations, retrofits, and modifications.
• Provide construction and field engineering support (shop drawings, RFIs, site visits).
• Participate in design, constructability, and safety reviews.
• At senior levels, lead structural work packages and mentor junior engineers and designers.

Sirius Staffing is hiring a Structural Engineer in the Mobile, AL area . This is a Direct Hire opportunity. You must have an Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a U.S. state; the ability to obtain Alabama reciprocity; and heavy industrial environment experience . This role is for a growing professional engineering services team to support local industrial projects.

Pay Range: up to $208,000 ( B ased on experience, technical capability, leadership background, and overall qualifications )

The Structural Engineer /PE will support analysis, design, optimization, and troubleshooting of structural systems across oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, power, and related industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel and concrete systems in industrial facilities, including pipe racks, platforms, buildings, equipment supports, and foundations.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction drawing packages.
• Evaluate applicable loading conditions and incorporate geotechnical recommendations into foundation and structural designs.
• Coordinate with designers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to produce accurate, constructible drawings and details.
• Support brownfield projects through field walkdowns, structural evaluations, retrofits, and modifications.
• Provide construction and field engineering support, including shop - drawing review, RFIs, site visits, and resolution of field issues.
• Participate in design, constructability, and safety reviews.
• At senior levels, lead structural work packages and mentor junior engineers and designers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) or Bachelor’s/Master’s in Structural Engineering from an ABET - accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a U.S. state; ability to obtain Alabama reciprocity.
• 10-20+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, power, heavy industrial, EPC).
• Strong experience with structural steel and reinforced - concrete design for industrial facilities.
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software ( STAAD.Pro , RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM) and engineering calculation tools (Mathcad or similar).
• Working knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and applicable client/site standards.
• Experience preparing and reviewing structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and manage multiple assignments.
• Strong analytical, problem - solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Preferred: Structural Engineer (SE) license; EPC client - facing experience; leadership and mentoring experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
