Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Structural team in Milwaukee, WI. You will work on transportation projects with state and local agencies, performing modeling, analysis and designs, and coordinating drafting with clients.

Requirements include a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 8+ years of design and inspection experience, and Wisconsin PE or reciprocity. CBSI is preferred. Strong communication and client‑facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
  • PE License in Wisconsin or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • CBSI – not required, but preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of design, load rating and inspection experience.
  • Experience working with WisDOT and/or municipalities.
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills.
  • Progressive experience with developing contract and utilizing MicroStation Connects, Open Roads and Open Bridge Design software.

  • Draw design details under direction of others.
  • Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
  • Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.

  • Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.

Structural Project Engineer

Join our growing Structural team as a Structural Project Engineer. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a project engineer you will perform engineering models, analysis and/or designs, and supporting calculations / documentation. You will also coordinate the drafting of project elements for various clients.

Location

This position will be in our office in Milwaukee, WI.

What We Are Looking For

  • Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) – not required, but preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of design, load rating and inspection experience
  • Experience working with WisDOT and/or municipalities
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills
  • Progressive experience with developing contract and utilizing MicroStation Connects, Open Roads and Open Bridge Design software
