Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Structural Designer to join the growing Structural team. You will work on diverse design projects with state and local transportation agencies, performing engineering models, analyses, and supporting calculations, and coordinating drafting for multiple clients.

The role is based in Pittsburgh, PA or Pottsville, PA, with opportunities to contribute to project elements under Project Managers and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
  • E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
  • Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.
  • The position may include the need to perform Field Inspection and may require travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
  • Draw design details under direction of Project Managers.
  • Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
  • Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
  • Coordinate drafting of an element.
  • Perform field or site visits as needed.
  • Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.

Structural Designer

Join our growing Structural team as a Structural Bridge Designer. In this role you will work on various structural design projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a Designer you will perform engineering models, analysis and/or designs, and supporting calculations / documentation. You will also coordinate the drafting of project elements for various clients.

Location

This role will be located in either our Pittsburgh, PA or our Pottsville, PA location.
