Job summary

Benesch Alfred & Co. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer in Milwaukee, WI. You will perform engineering models, analyses and designs, and coordinate drafting with clients and teams.

You will also collect data, perform field visits, and develop knowledge of codes and standards while using MicroStation Connects, OpenRoads and Open Bridge Design software. This role requires strong communication and client-relations skills.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • PE license in Wisconsin or reciprocity required or obtainable.
  • CBSI certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 8 years of design, load rating and inspection experience.
  • Experience with WisDOT and/or municipalities is expected.
  • Excellent communication and client-relations skills.
  • Experience developing contracts and using MicroStation Connects, OpenRoads and Open Bridge Design.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations.
  • Draw design details under supervision.
  • Compute quantities and relate to pay items.
  • Organize calculations into design files following project standards.
  • Coordinate drafting of project elements.

Join our growing Structural team as a Structural Project Engineer. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a project engineer you will perform engineering models, analysis and/or designs, and supporting calculations / documentation. You will also coordinate the drafting of project elements for various clients.

Location

This position will be in our office in Milwaukee, WI.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Collect and assimilate data andperform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
  • Draw design details under direction of others.
  • Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
  • Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
  • Coordinate drafting of an element.
  • Perform field or site visits as needed.
  • Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards anduse of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
What We Are Looking For
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplinerequired
  • PE License in Wisconsin or ability to obtain through reciprocity
  • Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) – not required, but preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of design, load rating and inspection experience
  • Experience working with WisDOT and/or municipalities
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills
  • Progressive experience with developing contract and utilizing MicroStation Connects, Open Roads and Open Bridge Design software
