Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Transportation team, focusing on design of bridges, culverts, and retaining walls using reinforced concrete, steel, and timber.

You will support senior staff, collaborate with disciplines and clients, ensure compliance with guidelines, prepare cost estimates, and mentor junior engineers while working in a generally hybrid schedule with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
• Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
• Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls.
• 5+ years of experience in structural design.
• Project and / or Client Management experience is preferred.
• Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of structural design projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficiency with CAD software (preferably MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Proficiency with structural design software (i.e. Bentley LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, MDX, MIDAS, etc).
• DOT project experience is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to assist with inter-disciplinary projects outside of structural design.
