Job summary

TUSA TAKRAF USA Inc in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to perform structural analysis and design for mining equipment foundations, conveyors, crushers, and tanks. You will produce 2D/3D CAD drawings and ensure compliance with steel codes.

Collaboration with vendors and project teams to meet budget and schedule is essential. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering, 4+ years of related experience, and a PE or SE license; a Master’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university with four+ years of related experience and PE license.
• Master’s Degree is desirable but not required.
• Knowledge of mining and bulk material handling industries.
• PE or SE credential required or in process.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel supports for conveyors, crushers, screens, tanks, pipes and foundations.
• Develop design criteria and document loads on structures.
• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Advance Steel, and SolidWorks.
• Review vendor drawings for structural components and ensure compliance with codes.

Job description

SUMMARY

Become a part of our team! Performs structural engineering analysis and design in order to meet project and client requirements in the mining industry by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical expertise in disciplinary field
• Meets task or project time and budget goals
• Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portion of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes
  • a.) Uses experience to assist in initial structural layouts and beam sizing
  • b.) Uses experience to help with material take-off estimates for proposals
  • c.) Communicates necessary structural information such as member sizes, connection, and welds, to others for the preparation of project drawings and specifications
  • d.) Understand material specifications for the structure and has a developed understanding of relevant steel codes and building codes
  • e. )Develops and communicates structural details of connections, and proposes alternate framing solutions to structural systems as required
  • f.) Perform structural analysis and design of structures such as steel supports for conveyors, crushers, screens, tanks, pipes and other equipment, and their foundations where appropriate
  • g.) Prepare design criteria, including all relevant loads on the structure
  • h.) Prepare structural 2D and 3D drawings in CAD software
  • i.) Prepare material take-offs and bill of material lists
  • j.) Review vendor documents for structural components

Minimum Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university and four or more years related experience and Professional Engineering License

Preferred Education/Experience

• Master’s Degree Desired, not Required

Knowledge of mining and /or bulk material handling industries

PE or SE

Computer Skills/Experience

• Drawing Software: 2D & 3D using AutoCad, Advance Steel, SolidWorks
• Design Software: RISA-3D desired Experience: AISC Steel Design

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Reviews designs of other structural engineers for code and design specification compliances
