Job description

Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) has openings in our Charlotte and Raleigh offices for a Structural Engineer. This position will consist of the development of structural calculations for various elements of transportation‑related structures, bridge inspection and reporting and plans preparation, cost estimates, and final bid packages.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and producing plans for transportation‑related projects from preliminary to final design including specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and final bid packages, and coordinating with the design team to ensure project completion within defined schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Work at this level requires the candidate to be a proactive, self‑starter that is willing to work with a team of engineers on projects throughout the State of North Carolina.
Required Skills
  • Competent knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, design/build, and the application to project work‑related issues.
  • Knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for both superstructure and substructure components.
  • Knowledge of NCDOT design standards, NCDOT plans preparation procedures, and geometric understanding.
  • Familiarity with practices and procedures for structural detailing.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast‑paced team‑oriented environment.
  • Experience in using structural analysis and design software – MicroStation/GeoPak plans, and Roadway Corridor Modeling production experience is a plus.
  • Ability to write, speak, and communicate clearly.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required
  • PE License required
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus preferred
