I’m currently working with a well-established structural engineering firm in Atlanta that is looking to add an experienced Structural Engineer to their team.

I’m specifically looking for someone with 5–10 years of building structural engineering experience who has developed a strong technical foundation and is ready to take the next step into project leadership and increased ownership.

About the Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who is ready to move beyond simply supporting projects and wants to take ownership of projects from design through completion.

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, clients, architects, contractors, and other design professionals while taking on increasing responsibility for project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction
• Design and analyze building structures including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood
• Perform structural calculations and develop design solutions
• Prepare and oversee structural drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports
• Coordinate projects with architects, MEP consultants, contractors, and other disciplines
• Participate in client meetings and project coordination
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents
• Perform site visits and construction observations
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communication
• Develop relationships with clients and contribute to future project opportunities

What I'm Looking For

• 5–10 years of structural engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience with steel and reinforced concrete
• Exposure to masonry and/or wood structures
• Working knowledge of IBC and applicable structural design codes
• Strong Revit/BIM experience — highly relevant to this opportunity
• Experience with structural analysis/design software such as RAM, ETABS, SAFE, RISA, or similar
• PE license or active progress toward PE preferred
• Strong communication and project coordination skills
• Someone who wants to lead projects and take ownership, not remain solely in a production role
