Job summary

OneFourTwo Design Group is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer for our Atlanta, GA team. You’ll be responsible for project performance and profit from day one, collaborating with drafting staff, clients, and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver construction-ready designs.

Ideal candidates have a Civil/Structural background, 1–3+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Revit. EIT/PE licensure or ability to obtain is highly preferred; join a team with strong professional development

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 1–3+ years of structural engineering experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to design for steel, concrete, masonry, light-gauge steel and foundation设计.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with drafting staff, clients and others outside the project team.
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients.
• Review building codes to ensure proper implementation in design.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil and mechanical engineers.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and construction.
• Produce construction-ready drawings coordinated with all disciplines for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing reviews and RFI responses.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients
• Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
• Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
• Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams

Necessary Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 1-3+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction
• Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
• Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is required
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
• Engineer In Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain, is highly preferred
