Job summary

OneFourTwo Design Group in Atlanta seeks a highly motivated Structural Engineer to lead building design from day one in our Atlanta office. You’ll be responsible for project performance, profitability, and coordinating with clients, architects, and engineers to deliver construction documents.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally with large-scale commercial and/or data center projects
• Ability to design for steel, concrete, masonry, and light gauge steel; foundation design understanding
• Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings
• Knowledge of RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA or other 3D design packages
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and communicate with clients, technical drafting staff, and others outside the project team
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients
• Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
• Produce construction-ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
• Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams

Necessary Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally with some experience in large‑scale commercial and/or data center projects
• Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gauge steel, and understanding of foundation design
• Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is required
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 6 months
