Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural EIT/Coordinator in the United States (Overland Park, KS) to contribute to designing critical infrastructure and supporting multi-disciplinary teams. The role emphasizes structural analyses, coordination with electrical and other disciplines, and field inspections to ensure quality and safety.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in Structural Engineering, with a preference for a Master’s in Civil/Architectural Engineering and EIT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering is required.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.
  • Preferred: Master's in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural focus; EIT qualification enhances progression.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in cost estimates and specs for structural projects.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures.
  • Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
  • Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment and devices.
  • Take on contract administration with field inspections and conflict resolution.
  • Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Guide clerical and technical staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Structural EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a Structural emphasis
  • Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
