Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Structural EIT in Phoenix, AZ to contribute to design options, cost estimates, and project specifications.

You will perform routine but important engineering tasks and may work independently on small projects or with senior engineers on larger initiatives. Required is a Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering and an EIT certificate; a Master’s degree with a structural focus is preferred, along with familiarity with codes such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and TMS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate required.
  • Master's degree with a Structural Focus preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, TMS) desired.

  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in cost estimates and specifications for structural engineering projects.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.

In the role of Structural EIT, we'll count on you to:
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural engineering projects
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree with a Structural Focus.
  • Knowledge of building codes such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and TMS.
  • Interest in structural engineering related to high tech and water facilities.
  • Previous intern experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar
  • Previous structural design experience (internship or full-time work experience) is a plus
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
